This is not a book review or a synopsis of the book, Making Yourself Indispensable: The Power of Personal Accountability by Mark Samuel. This book is just to darn good for me to do anything that would encourage you to not read it. Let me make it plain, Go buy this book and read it. Then teach it or discuss it at length with someone else. Then set aside some time to sit quietly and plan how you are going to apply it right now in your life and your business. We can all use this information and thinking in our own lives. If you are a coach you can use this system to help you provide more value to your clients. If you work in HR then this will change the way you approach your next training or planning sessions. And if you are an executive it is the blue print that you have been looking for to pull your management team together and truly achieve breakthrough performance.

Friday Jun 15, 2012
Friday Jun 15, 2012
In business the term silo is often used to describe a mind-set when certain departments or sectors do not wish to share information with others in the same company. This type of mentality reduces the efficiency of the overall operation, reduces morale, and may contribute to the demise of a productive company culture. In coaching we use the term to describe a client who is unable to see the possibilities outside of their existing environment. But as coaches, are we sometimes also working in a silo environment that we have created for ourselves? Listen as Doug Gfeller, MCC talks about silos in business and coaching and questions if it is possible to work without silos at all.
