“What Is The Female Business Model?” with Audrey Groeschel
Sunday Nov 01, 2015
Sunday Nov 01, 2015
Audrey is a coach and facilitator of an “Uncommon Society of Entrepreneurial Women”. She is the force behind the women business support group, Goddess at the Grindstone and wants to spread the word of being in business as a woman and what that means. Too often women in the business world are doing business from a deficit, utilizing men’s strengths and not their own to create, run, and do their businesses. While the male model has been working for men for centuries, women struggle with the model set in front of them because it is simply not the way our brains work. It is time for us, as women; to give ourselves the leg up we deserve and learn to come from the place that we are meant to, our innate feminine side. After years at many different types of jobs and businesses, she has finally found what the most important thing to her is, being allowed to be a woman in business and sharing that message with all.
Take-A-Ways: Recognizing these differences can open up new opportunities in problem solving.
- Women approach issues with more emotion and intuition then men. These are not negative things!
- Women are more verbal about their thought process then men.

“What is Coaching?” with Doug Gfeller, MCC
Sunday Oct 25, 2015
Sunday Oct 25, 2015
Why is it that when people ask “What is Coaching?” the response always starts with a description of what coaching is not. You know; it’s not consulting, it’s not mentoring, it’s not training and it’s not therapy. Or even worse the response is a detailed list of what coaching does not do. I can’t think of another situation where we fall into this trap. For instance, if I ask you what kind of car you are driving; you don’t tell me it’s not a Ford or a Chevy. No, you tell me what it is and if I have never heard of that brand and want more information then you proceed to give me more details on what it is.
Our objective here today is to create a definition of what coaching is, define how it works and identify what it produces. If we can’t even describe what it is in a compelling way, then why would anyone want to buy it? The Five Ws and one H, are questions whose answers are considered basic in information-gathering. They constitute a formula for getting the complete story on a subject. We will look at the response to each one of these questions as they relate to coaching in an attempt to build a better definition of coaching. A definition or story that will make people want to use coaching services now!

Listen as Mike shares how to work with your clients to develop their HVSE (High-value Self-esteem) based on self-efficacy development and self-concept clarity (SCC) as opposed to self-esteem in the usual sense of what a person perceives others to think about them. His coaching interests are in helping others identify their true selves, strengths, needs, and motivations, and combining those to make goals clear and goal-directed behavior rewarding and motivating in itself. Mike is currently leveraging the power of the Internet to satisfy this interest with MicroMentor, a non-profit all-volunteer consulting platform that pairs experts with those in need of support. Mike is a military veteran with an MBA and a Master’s in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and writing his first non-fiction book on the detriments of our society’s focus on simply meeting performance goals in lieu of truly mastering whatever we undertake. Mike will explain why he believes so strongly in strength based coaching and having a growth mindset instead of a fixed mindset.

Monday Jul 13, 2015
Monday Jul 13, 2015
We could have also called this show "What Does A Business Coach Do?" Or "Why Would I Hire A Coach". The issues are the same, the executive wants to identify when would I seek out a coach and the coach wants to know what issues would I coach an executive on and how. We are also going to look at the fine line between coaching and consulting when dealing with business executives. This is not just a list of the five top reasons a coach was hired, but a look at some actual case studies of executive coaching. It looks at why they hired a coach, what were they actually coached on, what provided the greatest ROI and was any consulting or training involved.
